lx218craThe LX-218CRA is a powered subwoofer system designed to provide outstanding performance in terms of output power, bandwidth extension and distortion. The LX-218CA incorporates the 18LXN long excursion cone transducer. The newly developed 18LXN loudspeakers are a significant improvement over their predecessors offering increased power handling, reduced distortion and power compression.

The LX-218CA incorporates a new high power (2400 W) and high-volt­age amplifier design providing ample headroom and accuracy. The amplifier uses the latest Class D design. The automatic dual voltage selector ensures a “no hassle” mains setup anywhere in the world. The amplifier incorporates a selectable preset allowing users to arrange cardioid configurations of 2 or 3 units.

“R” versions are equipped with a captive rigging system that is compatible with D.A.S. Aero line array accessories. The subwoofers can be stacked vertically on the optional PL-218CS dolly panel facilitating the transport in touring applications of up to 3 units. A front dolly panel (PL-LX218CS) is included with “R” version cabinets and is available as an option for LX-218C cabinets upgraded with rigging hardware.

The newly developed 18LXN loudspeakers are a significant improvement over their predecessors offering increased power handling, reduced distortion and power compression.

The subwoofer can be stacked vertically on the PL-218CS dolly facilitating transport in touring applications of up to 3 units. For the transport of individual units, an optional rear casters kit (KITW-100) is available.

The LX-218CA can be upgraded to the “R” version by way of the optional rigging hardware kit (KITR-LX218C) which includes the captive rigging system, fasteners and 8 mm quick release safety pins needed for one cabinet.

Aero 40A

aero40aThe Aero 40A is a 3-way powered line array system which incorporates connectivity for remote monitoring and control. The unique configuration of the Aero 40A Advanced Line Array System (ALAS™) incorporates a rear-loaded 12” transducer in a bass-horn configuration for low-end reproduction. The mid-range is handled by an new 8” transducer developed specifically for the Aero 40A. High frequency reproduction relies on two D.A.S. M-75N compression drivers attached to a new BPS-2912 waveguide.

The three channel, high efficiency Class D amplifier design is equipped with a switch mode power supply (SMPS) and a comprehensive protection package for both the amplifier as well as the components. Channel one powers the low frequency way, channel two the mid-range with channel three powering the high frequency drivers. The Aero 40A incorporates the latest in digital signal processors. Brick wall FIR filters provide perfect alignment between ways achieving exceptionally uniform coverage all the way down to the crossover point.

Top-of-the-line AD/DA converters have been employed allowing for significant improvements in dynamics, lower distortion and ultra-low noise levels. Remote monitoring and control is provided by way of DASnet™, the audio management application for D.A.S. powered cabinets and processors which offers users instant and intuitive view of the system status as well as control over a range of parameters of a single cabinet or a network of them.

The Aero 40A has been constructed using birch plywood and finished with the ISO-Flex black paint it offers excellent protection and durability. Three individual assemblies comprising the high frequency waveguide, the horn device for the 8” mid-range and the carrier for the 12” woofer are made from injection molded aluminum and attached to the front of the cabinet. A two-piece injected aluminium heat sink housing the amplifier and related electronics is attached to the rear of the cabinet. To provide both strength and resistance to corrosion, stainless steel has been used for the fasteners and major parts of the new rigging system.

Aero 50

aero50The large format Aero 50 is the evolution of the highly successful Aero 48. This externally powered, high efficiency line array module integrates low, mid and high frequency transducers in a single unit. Designed for use in large-scale events in stadiums and arenas, the Aero 50 offers a number of important improvements in terms of performance and weight reduction.

The low frequency reproduction is handled by two new 15GNR loudspeakers in a bass-reflex configuration. The 15GNR speaker incorporates a 100 mm (4″) edge-wound flat wire (EFW) voice coil and lightweight neodymium magnet assembly maximizing the dynamic response for a deep, precise bass. Four purpose-built 8MN, 8″ cone transducers incorporating neodymium magnetic assemblies and 62 mm (2.5″) voice coils are used for mid frequency reproduction. High frequency reproduction is handled by two M-75N compression drivers designed for use in high-level applications where abundant SPL and low distortion are mandatory. A pure titanium diaphragm featuring 75 mm (3″) copper-clad aluminum EFW voice coil yields high sensitivity, low distortion and extended frequency response.

The rugged, trapezoidal enclosure is built using Birch plywood and covered with a durable paint finish. The captive rigging system splay angles range from 0º to 9.6º and can be adjusted in 0.8º increments from 0º to 3.2º and 1.6º increments from 3.2º to 9.6 º allowing a wide range of column curvatures to be accomplished.
